There have always been many good
reasons to join the Montana Chapter and our regional
ASPIRE associations. Through association meetings we
continually discover new and better ways to serve our
students. We learn about emerging issues such as
regulation changes and the relatively new emphasis on
program accountability. There is a positive energy
among TRIO professionals that is refreshing, and we have
the opportunity to make many friends that we can turn to
for ideas, advice, and yes, friendship. Your personal
financial contribution supports efforts to provide state
and federal funding for our students and supports our
professional development opportunities.
These reasons are just as valid
today, but now we have a TRIO funding crisis at hand,
our involvement and contributions are absolutely
critical. You as a professional can contribute
financially through membership dues and personal
contributions to ASPIRE and COE. Your program or
institution can legally contribute through ASPIRE
program memberships (new), COE institutional
memberships, and subscriptions to COE publications.
Please encourage your students to join under the $3
student memberships.
COE
ASPIRE meets the COE donation through the following
methods/categories:
1. Annual ASPIRE Regional Dues to COE in the
amount of $4,000.
2. Publication Package: Each project is
asked to purchase a Publication Package annually (Equality
Newsletter and Professional Journal - Opportunity Outlook) for
$200 for Institutional Members, and $400 for non-members.
The Publication Package can be purchased out of project monies.
3. Institutional Membership: Each
institution which hosts a TRiO project is asked to pay
an annual Institutional Membership of $1,700 to COE.
the amount is increased for institutions with more than
one TRiO project based on the number of projects at the
institution. 4. Personal Donations:
there is an opportunity annually for individuals to make
personal donations to COE. The donations can be in
any amount. The COE donation categories are:

- $99......................Friend of the Council
$100 - $249...................President's Council
$250 - $499.................Advocate for TRiO
$500 - $999.................Patron for TRiO
$1,000 - $4,999..........Champion for TRiO
$5,000 and Above......Benefactor for TRiO 5.
Group Contribution from state associations and/or
TRiO programs. ASPIRE
The ASPIRE Fiscal Year is January 1
through December 31. ASPIRE meets the budgetary
needs of the regional association through the following
methods/categories.
1. Annual Conference Proceeds.
The Annual Conference is held in October.
2. Individual Membership Dues.
Membership dues cannot be paid from project funds.
3. Regional Fund Raising
Activities. These are usually held prior to
and at the Annual Conference
4. A portion of Indirect Funds
from the ASPIRE Training Grants.
5. ASPIRE Program Memberships.
Each program is asked to contribute $100 annually.
If a program director approves, program funds can be
used for this or funds can be collected through personal

6. Personal Donations:
There is an opportunity annually for individuals to make
personal donations to ASPIRE. The donations can be
in any amount. The ASPIRE donation categories are:
